Since 2002, Power Surge Technologies, based in Hay River, Northwest Territories has been northern Canada's premier provider of office supplies, office furniture, computers & I.T. and consumer electronics. Power Surge was founded on the principle that northern businesses and consumers shouldn't have to pay exorbitant fees for everyday supplies and tools just because they're located in the Territories.
Our northern clients seemed to agree, and during our first 8 years in business we grew our floorspace from under 500 square feet to 2,400 square feet in order to accommodate growing demand for affordable supplies and products.
Now, Power Surge owns a 3,800 square foot building full of office supplies, computers, printers, and consumer electronics, and serves clients in all three Territories. Not from the North? We ship to our clients south of the 60th parallel from our closest Distribution Centre located in either Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, or Toronto. At Power Surge, our "secret sauce" is a mix of affordable prices, outstanding customer service, true Canada-wide distribution, and a wide selection of products.

We're also proud to offer subsidized shipping fees, something that people constantly say we're crazy to do. We're here to prove that shopping locally in the North doesn't have to be expensive or inconvenient. We charge additional shipping fees for large and heavy items, such as electronics, paper products, furniture, office equipment and cleaning supplies.


The North has been neglected for too long. And living in a small community shouldn't mean you can only choose from a small selection of products. Power Surge' mission is to make life more affordable for our clients in the Territories.

Brian Lefebvre, President & General Manager

Brian Lefebvre founded Power Surge Technologies in 2002 after seeing that Canada's three territories had long been neglected by office supply and electronics retailers. A serial entrepreneur, he decided to disrupt the office supply industry by introducing innovative new solutions to support clients in small markets and remote locations. Brian grew the business by creating long-term relationships with both suppliers and clients, focusing on providing old-fashioned service in a brand new way. Brian remains actively involved in all of Power Surge Technologies' operations, and he loves the feeling of satisfaction that comes from solving a problem or meeting a need.
